Linking a new contemporary house to an established garden with spectacular views requires bold design. In this garden a large stainless steel edged deck extends out from the house, projecting over an ornamental pool, allowing views of the valley and hills beyond.
The water reflects the surrounding established trees and is enhanced by glass sculptures. The house walls are mainly glazed and the lush, blocks of colourful perennial plants are enjoyed from every angle within the house's open and minimalist interior.
The position of the second house overlooking a beautiful valley and treescape below, called for careful regarding and retention of the slope. Gabions in-filled with a local stone retain the slope, whilst also linking the house to its surroundings.
A cantilevered deck, with glass balustrade, from the main living room enjoys the best of the views, whilst a lower lounging deck with a stainless steel pool is surrounded by a very minimal planting of grasses and perennials.
